“The Big C”
Everyone, including yours truly,
shudders to think of the word “CANCER” and all of the surrounding implications. Originally this story was going to be called “My Journey”
but I soon realized that this cancer has affected more people than I
thought. It’s not all about “me” and my
cancer, but more about our family, our friends, our co-workers and our support
groups.
This cancer became a part of our
life early this spring, May 2013, and I thought I would share some of my
experiences, thoughts and feelings throughout this very emotional journey.
There might be times when I use a
little too much detail and graphic description, but this will be amply
forewarned for those with a more delicate disposition. Watch for an asterisk
(*) at the beginning of the segment; if you tend to be a bit on the squeamish
side, you might want to just scroll down to the next segment. I probably won’t post pictures, as there are
more than enough of them online now, but I do welcome comments and related
experiences from those who have had a similar procedure.
It helps to know you’re not alone!
Great first entry. Such good writing!
ReplyDeleteSo this is the reason why you were asking about "how to blog something." I had no idea you had cancer but I am glad you are sharing your story with us.
ReplyDeleteSharing, by writing down your feelings, hardships and successes, is very theraputic, and I applaud you Judith. You have had so many successes in the past ... and you will have many more throughout this hurdle in life too.
Cancer is well known in my family: Breast Cancer (my Mom, 2 Aunts and Justines' girlfriend who was a bridesmaid in her wedding last year); Leukemia (my Mom & Aunt); Bone Cancer (Aunt); Lung Cancer (Aunt), Colon Cancer (both my Mom's Parents); Melanoma (Cousin); Sinus Cavity (Cousin) - all on my Mom's side of the family. My Dad and his family had 'other' health issues.
The Big C is one of my favourite shows and I love your reference to it. I look forward to reading your blogs, sharing and continuing our friendship for many years to come. I am sending you prayers of strength, courage and hope throughout your journey, and always.
I am always here for you. You are never alone! You are loved.
Carol xo
